Filtering & search
The Response Console gives you several ways to find exactly the responses you want: the shared filter bar, console-specific filters, full-text search, and bulk actions on what you've selected.
Two layers of filtering
The console combines global filters from the top filter bar with a few page-local filters of its own.
From the shared filter bar
The filter bar at the top of the page scopes the console the same way it scopes every Analyse screen. On the Responses screen it offers:
- Surveys — pick one survey to get a per-survey view, or leave on All surveys for the cross-survey console.
- Date range — a preset window or a custom From/To.
- Channels — restrict to one or more channels.
- Agents and Team — restrict to particular agents or a team.
- Saved views — load a saved filter combination.
Page-local filters
The console also has its own Filters card for refinements specific to reading responses:
- Agent — narrow to one agent.
- From / To — a date window that takes precedence over the bar's range for the console.
- Segment — restrict to a defined segment (shown when your account has segments).
A Clear button removes these page-local filters in one click.
Segments
A segment is a saved rule that groups responses by conditions such as channel or a custom-data field. If your account defines segments, pick one from the Segment dropdown to show only the responses that fall inside it. Segments are a quick way to slice the console without rebuilding filters by hand.
Full-text search
The Search verbatims card searches the actual text customers wrote — not just metadata.
- Type words into the search box (for example
refund,slow, orfriendly). - Press Search.
Results come back as a list of matching snippets, each showing the survey name and date, with the matched text highlighted in context. Click a result to open that response's detail drawer.
The search understands natural phrasing — you can combine words, quote a phrase to match it exactly, and exclude terms. Clearing the box returns you to the full list.
The global search box in the header also searches response text. Searching there deep-links you straight into the Response Console with your query already run.
Bulk actions
You can act on many responses at once.
- Use the checkbox in each row to select responses, or the header checkbox to select everything on the page.
- A selected count appears in the toolbar.
With responses selected you can:
- Export — with rows selected, Export immediately downloads those visible selections. With nothing selected, it queues a durable export of the full filtered set — every matching response, not only the current page. A status drawer follows the background build; you can close it without interrupting the export, reopen the run from Recent exports or the Exports page, and download each retained CSV part once it is ready. The CSV includes id, survey, channel, sentiment, NPS, and received date.
- Erase — click Erase to permanently delete the selected responses. You'll be asked to confirm.
:::warning Erasing is permanent Erasing responses cannot be undone. It's intended for removing test data or honouring a deletion request — use it deliberately. :::
:::note Background exports Large filtered exports may be split into several CSV files, each with its own header. Ready files are available only until the run's displayed expiry time. An in-progress build can be cancelled from its status drawer; partial files are then cleaned up automatically. :::
